The Nordmann fir is the most popular Christmas tree in Europe – it’s known for:

• Having softer needles (not too prickly!) and an even shape – it’s easy and fun to decorate

• Glossy, dark green needles that have a whitish/light blue underside

• Strong branches, which are great for hanging heavier and larger decorations

• The Nordmann fir is a great choice if you suffer from allergies, as the needles have a thick waxy coating.

• Sometimes known as the ‘Silver fir’, it was named after the Finnish botanist Alexander von Nordmann who discovered this tree species in the Caucasus Mountains
